THE ASSURANCE OF GODS WORD

THE ASSURANCE OF GODS WORD

Hebrews 11:6     But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

If you want this assurance of God’s word to be perfected in your life, you must have faith enough to believe that God is, and will do what His inspired word says it will do.

Believing that God exists is only the beginning. Even the demons believed that much. God will not settle for mere acknowledgement of His existence. He wants a personal relationship with you. A relationship that will transform your life.

Those who seek God will find that they are rewarded with his intimate presence. God assures us that all who honestly seek him, who act in faith on the knowledge of God will be rewarded.

2 Timothy 3:16-17   16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

The whole bible is Gods inspired word. Because it is trustworthy, we should read it and apply it to our life. The bible is our standard for testing everything else that claims to be true. It is our safeguard against false teachings.

It is our source of guidance for how we should live and be saved. All scripture that is inspired by God is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It teaches us what is right.

It is God’s way of preparing us in every way and to equip us for every good thing God wants us to do.

Hebrews 6:18     That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

God took an oath so that those who received the promise, (Jesus) could be perfectly sure that He would never change His mind.

God has given us, both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie.

Therefore, we who have run to him for refuge can take new courage by holding on to His promise with confidence.

Titus 1:2    In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

This truth gives us the confidence of eternal life, which God promised us before the creation of the world began. He cannot lie because God is all truth.

Because God is all truth and cannot lie, what he says he will do must come to pass. Confidence is nothing more than trusting God, believing that no matter what, God will always be there.

Hebrews 13:5-6    Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

This is why we can say with confidence; the Lord is my helper, we can trust that God will always meet our needs. Whatever we need God can supply, but we must remember there is a difference between our wants and our needs.

Matthew 6:33   33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

To make the kingdom of God your primary concern, means to put God first in your life. To fill your thoughts with His desires, to serve and obey Him in everything. You can actively choose Him as having first place in all areas of your life.

John 10:10   10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

God says my purpose is to give life in all fullness, in contrast to the thief who takes life. Jesus gives life, the life He gives is abundantly rich and full. It is eternal, yet it begins immediately through faith and trust in His death, burial and resurrection.

The bottom line is, you want what God has, God wants you to have what he has. You haven’t been getting what God wants to give you. God has been dealing with that same problem since Adam and Eve.
Here is some of the problems God deals with us humans:

1.      The only time we talk to God is when we need or want something.

2.      We don’t receive, because we must believe that we receive when we pray. We only hope.

God likes us enough to hand it to us, if only we will believe we receive.

Sometimes we use God like an insurance policy. We don’t reach out to him until we crash. Stop treating God like the heavenly handy man and start praising him like the loving heavenly father he is. He wants us to talk to him every day just like we talk to our mom or dad.  He loves us and wants a relationship with us.

SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS THROUGH THE COVENANT OF GRACE

SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS THROUGH THE COVENANT OF GRACE

Eph. 1: 3-5   Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

Who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms or places.

This means, that in Christ we have all the benefits of knowing God. Our relationship with God has been renewed.

Being chosen for salvation, Mathew 22:14 says, for many are called, but few are chosen. When we hear/feel the Holy Spirit tugging at our heart, we must surrender ourselves to Him.

To enter into these spiritual blessings, we must receive the invitation of his righteousness through Jesus Christ.

Being adopted as His children, Eph 1:5, we were predestinated (or fore ordained by divine decree) unto the adoption by Jesus Christ to Himself.

John 1: 12-13   That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

Being born makes you physically alive and places you in your parent’s family.

Being born of God makes you spiritually alive and puts you in Gods family.

Another spiritual blessing is forgiveness:

1st John 1:9   If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

All people by nature and by practice are sinners, at our conversion; all our sins are forgiven, past present and future.

Even after we become Christians, we still sin and still need to confess or repent.

Another spiritual blessing is insight:

Insight is a clear understanding of the inner nature of some specific thing.

Insight is: The ability to see and understand clearly.

2nd Tim 2:7   Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

God speaks through His word and we need to be open to it and meditate on it.

Read the word then consider what you have read by thinking it through and meditating on it.

God, through the Holy Spirit will give you understanding.

Another blessing is the gifts of the Holy Spirit:

Eph 4:4-12   There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Eph 1:17   That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

The spirit of wisdom, knowledge and understanding, comes from God the Father, through the Holy Spirit who reveals the truth to your spirit.

It is that still small voice within you that says, don’t do that, or don’t take that road, etc.

We receive through His mercy and grace. This is His gift to you. It is not of your works, but of His grace and favor.

Another spiritual blessing is Power to do the will of God:

God’s will, His word, is the will of God, will never lead you where the grace of God can not keep you.

2nd Peter 1:3   According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Many believers want an abundance of God’s special favor and peace, but they are unwilling to put forth the effort to know Him better. We must stay in His word and live life for Him.

The power to lead a godly life comes from God the Father and the Holy Spirit.

God allows us to share in His divine nature, in order to keep us from sin. With Jesus as our savior we become worthy to have a relationship with our heavenly Father.

God by his spirit empowers us with his own goodness. When we receive Christ as savior, we receive the spirit of God.

Another blessing is the hope of living forever with Christ:

Hope is the inner image of who we are in Christ Jesus

Heb 6:19   Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

This confidence in God is like a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.

Two unchangeable things are God’s promise and his oath. He can not lie, because God is truth. A covenant with God is a forever covenant.

You can be sure of his promises; you don’t need to wonder if he will change His plans.

Our hope is secure and immoveable, when we anchor it in God.

If our faith is strong we won’t lose hope, have faith in God, faith is a positive response to what grace has already made available.

YOU CAN HAVE ETERNAL LIFE

YOU CAN HAVE ETERNAL LIFE

John 8:12   12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of li

If you follow me you won’t be stumbling through the darkness, because you will have the light that leads to eternal life.

As we follow the laws of the nation, we should follow even more so the laws of the Kingdom of God.

Jesus brings God’s presence, protection and guidance to our lives, he is the light of the world.

Is he the light in your world, or are you still trying to work thigs out on your own in the darkness?

John makes it very clear that Jesus is not just a man, he is the eternal son of God.

He is the light of the world because he offers us all this awesome gift of eternal life.

It would be foolish to think of Jesus of nothing more than just a good man or a moral teacher.

If you really believe Jesus is the eternal son of God, pay more attention to His divine life-giving message. The message that he is the son of God.

Some worship Him but at the same time are puzzled, some simply don’t believe him, we see the same reactions today as were seen when he came to earth.

Times have changed, but people’s hearts still remain hard. Sometimes I think there is too many doubting Thomas’ in the world.

If we can believe Jesus died for the remission of our sins so that we might have eternal life, why can’t we believe the rest of what He says?

By trusting Him and having an open mind to understand Gods message and continue in our lives to fulfill Gods purpose for our life.

By believing in His life, his words. His death and resurrection, we are cleansed from our sins and receive power. The power to fulfill His purpose for our lives.

John 3:5-6   Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

The truth is no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.

Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives us new live from heaven.

John 3:36   36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Jesus says, that those who believe in Him have eternal life, not will have.

Eternal or everlasting life begins at the moment of accepting Jesus as Savior, it is called a spiritual rebirth.

Jesus says if you only knew the gift God has for you, and who I am, you would ask me and I would give you living water, the water I give takes away thirst altogether.

Eternal life is Gods life embodied in Christ, given to all believers as a guarantee that they will live forever. No more death, sickness, enemies, sin or evil.

Receive this new life by faith and put Christ Jesus in charge of your eternal destiny. He alone is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except by Him.
