The Power That Works Within Us

The Power That Works Within Us
Ephesians 3:15-20   15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Rejoice, because your names are written in Heaven.
Luke 10:20   but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

The family of God includes all who have believed in Him in the past, present and all who will believe in the future.
We are all a spiritual family, because we have the same spiritual Father.

He is the source of all creation, the rightful owner of everything. God promises his love and power to his family the church.

If we want to receive Gods blessings, it is important that we stay in contact with other believers in the body of Christ.

People, who isolate themselves from Gods family and then try to go it alone, cut themselves off from Gods power. Gods’ power works in unity or in one accord.

Matthew 18:20   20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

This is so important in the body of Christ. When two or three believers are praying for something the Holy
Spirit is with them.

The Holy Spirit gives us the gift of grace by the effectual working of his power. If you are a believer, this power should be working in you.

In union with Christ Jesus and through His empowering spirit we are complete. We have the fullness of God available to us.

Through faith and prayer we can ask the Holy Spirit to fill every aspect of your life to the fullest.

If believers set their spiritual minds in one accord, or in the wisdom of the Holy Spirit, nothing is impossible.

Genesis 11:4-6   And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

God said the people are one, they are in one accord or in agreement. They have one language, now nothing can hold them back from what they have imagined to do.
In this verse Language is speaking words they were agreeing on building the tower.
These people had the kind of faith in themselves that they believed they could do this. However these people were not trusting God to help them build this tower.

Their faith and belief was in agreeing if it could be imagined they could do it. Their faith was in trusting the next step. Their words of faith made a reality.

How much more faith can believers have today in the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen.

The will of God is our foundation for faith. You must look beyond the natural realm of your mind, will and emotions to have the God kind of faith.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Your must get Gods word beyond your head and down in your heart for it to work.

Matthew 12:34   34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

Jesus reminds us that what we say reveals what is in our heart. You will never be able to solve your heart problem by just cleaning up your speech.

We must allow the Holy Spirit to fill us with the spiritual way of speaking. As believers we are the righteous children of God. We need to use our words carefully. Words have power.

Believe in your heart that you are the righteousness of God and confess with your mouth, only then you will have the right to what you say

The power is within us.

RENEWING OF THE MIND

2 Timothy 1:7   For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

We are spirit, we live in a body, and we have a soul.

Our soul is made up of three parts, our mind, our will and our emotion.

Your mind is what you think with
Your will is what you want
Your emotions are what you act on.

Matthew 22: 37   Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is what the mind does; it is supposed to make the right choices to love the Lord with all your heart.

However, your mind can only do what it is trained or renewed to do.

However we still have a will and emotions to deal with.

Your will, doing what you want it to do, is called the desires of the mind.

Then comes the emotions, your emotions can really make your day

They are a state of feeling… happy, anger or fear.

Romans 8:15    For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Fear will put you under bondage, anger causes toxins, or poisons to be released into your body.

Eph 4:31   Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

1 Corinthians 6: 19-20   19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Let us talk about our mind: our mind is what we think. Did you ever hear the expression “I gave her or him a peace of my mind?”

Or I think I am loosing my mind:
Or my mind isn’t what it used to be
It is just mind over matter. I don’t mind and it don’t matter.
That is bad lingo in any language.
Eph. 4:23   And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
We need to renew our minds daily, so the enemy can not deceive us. the way we renew our minds is to read and study the Word of God. The enemy is very cunning and very smart.
Take heed to your selves, that your heart be not deceived. the best way not to be deceived is to know the Word.
Our life is not in the mind, our life is in the spirit, our mind is carnal, and sometimes carnal is not good.
Eph 2:5   Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
Open your mind and receive the inspired word of God. I challenge you to read five minutes five days a week. I know that just reading five minutes a day five days a week will change your life, make it better, happier, fuller.
Receive this anointing and power from reading and discerning of His word
Let the word quicken your mind with the life force that makes our spirit alive beyond natural thinking.
If you will let Gods presence in your life, the Holy Spirit will give you insight to put Gods word into action.
Romans 12: 2    And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

It is not about your will. It is about the will of God and the renewing of your mind.

Leaving young girls at home alone for 3 days?

Dear Mom,

My husband’s uncle, Mike, passed away this week. It was stage IV cancer – only diagnosed a year and a half ago. The funeral is in a few weeks. Although I didn’t see Mike often, he is the man who presided over our wedding. We know his wife and his children – the youngest is still in high school.

I know my husband Tony thought a lot of him and would like us both to go to the funeral which will be several states away. Tony thinks that is it okay to leave my two daughters home alone for the two nights and three days that we will be gone. Ashley will be 14 in just two months, but is she old enough to be home alone for so long? Sarah is 11. Both girls are very well behaved and follow the rules. We have neighbors who will check in on them regularly and be there if they need anything.

I still can’t help but feel that the girls are too young to be without us for so long. What do you think? How young is too young to be home alone?

A cautious mom,

I am so sorry for your loss and for the family’s loss

I can’t help but feel that It is way too risky to leave these two young girls at home alone. It is not a matter of if they are well behaved or not, it is a matter of if some kind of accident or emergency comes up. If they get sick or run a fever they will need the help of an adult that is there with them. They are too young to know what to do in an emergency situation or if one of them get sick.

There needs to be an adult staying with them. You are right to feel like they are too young to be left home alone for so long a period of time

Mom.

HAVING A RIGHTEOUS CONSCIOUS

This is a lesson written by Brother Andy... I thought you might like this one. It is good to be righteous ie in right standing with God.  We all have choices to make every day to either be righteous or walk on the wrong side. I hope you all enjoy this lesson as much as I did.

HAVING A RIGHTEOUS CONSCIOUS

2ND Timothy 2: 19…19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
When we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, and the finished work of the cross, we become a new creation. At that moment that we accept Jesus, the Holy Spirit seals this new spirit, or new creation, and lives or dwells in us.
The Holy Spirit reveals Gods wisdom, to our spirit, keeping us on the path of righteousness. We are heirs to the kingdom of God and no devil in hell can take this away from you.
John 10: 27-30… 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.30 I and my Father are one.
No one can take you out of Jesus’ hand, and even if they could, they can’t take you out of the Fathers hand… Jesus and the Father are as one…
Hebrews 13: 5… 5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Jesus says, I will never leave you or forsake you… and by no means will I ever forsake you, we must believe that.

Finding a Church Home

Is there something of a spiritual nature going on in you life? Need an outside, unbiased, honest opinion? Contact ME

I've raised 5 children and been married for almost 20 years. Any questions are welcome. Just like with my kids, I will give you honest feedback.

My Husband I worked as Evangelist for a while and visited many different Churches. It was very interesting to see how each church operated, and to teach Gods word wherever we went. We loved all the people we met. We found that for the most part, people are the same everywhere.

We had the habit of going to this one church when we didn’t have any engagements. It became familiar to us. We both, Andy and I enjoyed the people and the pastor’s messages. The people became fond of us and after a year or so it became clear to us that our path was about to change.
The pastor needed our support and we decided to join the church we had learned to love. We were greeted with open arms by this loving church. We have not done any more evangelizing and are there full time now.

Exodus: Gods and Kings - 2014 Movie

Exodus: God and Kings
2014 Movie

I went to see the movie “Exodus: Gods and Kings” this week. I was expecting that there would probably be some Hollywood injected into the movie, but I was in no way expecting it to be all Hollywood. Still it was not as bad as Noah. To see a review on Noah CLICK HERE.

I am not only disappointed but amazed at how much of the story of what God did for Moses and the Hebrew children was left out:

  • It started out that Miriam brought the boy to the Pharaohs daughter, they didn’t hint at the fact that Moses had been placed in a basket and floated down the river.
  • Instead of Moses fleeing from Pharaoh like it says in Exodus 2:15 they depicted that Moses was banished.
  • God did not speak to Moses from a flaming bush; they had a young boy as God speaking face to face with Moses.
  • The water in the river was bloody by means of crocodiles attacking and making the bloody water. In Exodus 4:9 says it shall become blood after it is drawn from the river.
  • In Exodus 4:15 it speaks of Aaron being there with Moses to speak for him, this did not happen
    in the movie.
  • When the tablets were made, Moses was chiseling them out himself – no mention of God helping.
  • In general all the things that God did as Moses took the Hebrews into the desert were left out. The pillar of a cloud by day and a pillar of fire to give them light by night, as it says in Exodus 13: 21.
  • There was so very much that was so wrong about the exodus of the Hebrews from Egypt. It is too much to mention on this blog.

Dear Mom,
Help! Am I being too hard on my kids?

Here’s what happened:
On Monday I grounded my daughter Sarah (age 11) from all electronics for two days because she didn’t do what I said: Instead of getting ready for soccer she played on her guitar which made both her and her sister late for practice.
Thursday Sarah gave me a permission form a choir performance at the Saint Luke’s Children’s Hospital on Saturday. I signed the sheet and asked her to keep the upper portion for me so that I would know where to go.
Saturday rolled around. Sarah had a early soccer game. When we returned home she began getting ready for the choir recital. I asked her for the form. She asked, “Can’t you call Mackenzie's mom and find out where to go?”
“Sarah, I told you to keep the top portion of that sheet for me.” I replied, “If you don’t have it, then you will miss the performance.”
Sarah panicked. She dug through all the papers in her backpack – no form. Again she pleaded, “I know I kept it... Can’t you just call Mac’s mom?”
“No, I can’t. You must learn to do what you are told. If you don’t have the information, you won’t be going to sing with your choir.”
Sarah eventually found the paper and we barely made it to the performance on time. My husband, Tony, was supportive of my actions... but was this too harsh? It is Christmas and this is a very special thing Sarah wanted to do...
Thanks!

Lynn,
As parents it is sometimes hard to discipline. The discipline should always be used as a way to teach our children. As our children grow they need to learn how to be responsible. Responsibilities should start out being easy when they are young. As they get older the responsibilities will be more important. Some people are just naturally more responsible, they are the easy kids to teach. The discipline should match the importance or the lack of co-operation by the child.
I think your discipline matched the need at the time and it did seem to work. She found her paper and saved herself. I would say good lesson teaching.

Keep reading the word and following the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Being Prayed for in a Spirit Led Church

Dear Mom, My family has recently began attending a church that is more Spirit let. People speak in tongues and are often healed when they are prayed for by the pastor or one of the elders. I have wanted to return to this type of church for many years and the opportunity recently arose, praise God!

One of the women at the church invited me to her home to worship: a small group of women from our church meet there every Thursday. The hostess, lets call her Hayden,  played songs on the TV where the words were displayed. Five of us women sang along and worshiped the Lord.
I was very much enjoying the presence of the Lord when Hayden came over to

me and began praying for me. Well, it was not so much a prayer as a rebuke. I’ve been a Christian for many years and I love correction from God for the Bible says, “God corrects those He loves.” (Prov. 3:12) However, in this case, the correction was something that God has dealt with me about several years ago.
