TAKE NO THOUGHT OF TOMORROW
What is worry? It is a troubled state of mind that causes
anxiety, distress and uneasiness. It is something that causes mental distress.
If you are anxious or having anxiety, concerned or
worried about an event. Maybe an uncertain future, a moment which disturbs the
mind and keeps it in the state of painful uneasiness.
Matthew 6: 31-34 31 Therefore take no thought, saying,
What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for
your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his
righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the
morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is
the evil thereof.
Take no though here means don’t worry,
the Greek text actually means that even one anxious though is forbidden because
it shows a distrust in the Lord.
Verse 32 is telling us that the
Heavenly Father knows what we have need of. All of the things that pertain to
life and godliness.
Verse 33, is saying you must seek
first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness for you to receive all of God’s
provision for your life.
Take no thought of tomorrow is talking
about there is no promise of tomorrow. When you worry about things you start getting
over into the area of your soul, which is made up of your mind, will and
emotions.
Your mind is what you think with,
your will is what you want, and you act on your emotions.
Worry will cause your mind to go
into a troubled state and leads you to doubting, doubting God’s word. At that
point your WILL decides what you want and goes into an anxiety state of mind.
At this point your emotions cause
to act on and react to and it puts you into a mental mess.
That is why the verse 6:34 says
take no though for tomorrow. We are to keep trusting our Lord no matter what
trial we face.
We are made up of body, soul and
spirit.
Ephesians 1:13 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the
word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye
believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Once you have
heard the word and believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit.
Even though your
spirit is sealed, you still have to deal with your flesh and soul.
Your soul is not
sealed. You may ask why? It is because when you were created God gave you a
free will and your soul is responsible for keeping your soul righteous before
God.
Our soul is what
will be judge when we stand before Christ Jesus.
Stay focused on
the word today. Tomorrow will take care of itself. If you have a mountain in
your life speak to the mountain.
This mountain
that I am referring to is the enemy attacking you and the only thing you have
to defeat this mountain is faith.
Faith will move
mountains. Use the power and authority that is in the name of Jesus. It will be
all you need to break the chains and cast this mountain out of your life.
It is impossible to
have peace in your life if worry is involved, worry will hinder your joy, which
is your strength.
Without God’s
peace and joy, you will wear down because you are using your own strength, and
eventually you will end up with a big mess of stress.
This is when you
need to make a decision to turn to God and tell Him, I need Your help Lord to
get through this.
If you are
sincere God will break the chains in your life and move you from the natural
way of thinking to thinking in His supernatural way.
Stay in the Word
and lean on His strength in all things. He is waiting to hear from you. He
wants to help you with your daily walk.
