SANCTIFIED

SANCTIFIED

John 17:13-19   13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

Jesus is about to return to heaven and is praying to the Heavenly Father.

He is saying to the Father, keep them from evil, for they are not of this world, as I am not of this world. He is speaking here about the believers.

Being sanctified is not a religious term. Sanctification is the will of God through the truth, which makes it a holy term.

John 8:31-32   31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 4:23-24   23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Being sanctified means made holy or set apart for sacred services.

A sanctifier is a person or thing that sanctifies or makes holy, that is, the Holy Spirit.

Sanctify or to make holy means free from sin or to purify. To be set apart as holy, to make sacred.

There are different levels of sanctification, they are directly connected to your level of spiritual growth and maturity.

The first manifestation of sanctification is at the moment of conversion. (accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior). Believing that Jesus gave his life so you could be saved.

The manifestation happens when a person becomes a believer, receiving Jesus through the new blood covenant with their confession of faith.

At that time God sets you apart as sons and daughters through the new covenant. Instantly at that tie the Holy Spirit seals your spirit.

We are sanctified by the word, by the blood, by the Holy Spirit, by separating yourself from unclean things.

2 Corinthians 6:16-18     16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

The Word is saying, stop worshiping idols, for you are the temples of the living God. and God has said, I will dwell with you and I will be your God, and you shall be my people.

Come out from the things of the world and be separate and I will receive you and be a Father to you, then you shall be my sons and daughters.

Hebrews 13:11-12   11 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.
12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

This is letting us know that the animal sacrifice in the blood of them was not enough. It took the blood of Jesus to sanctify us. Burned without the camp, means the carcass of the animal was burned outside the camp. Symbolizing Gods wrath against sin.

Under the old covenant, which is the mosaic law the chief priest would bring the blood of animals into the holy place as an offering for sin.

With the new covenant by the blood of Jesus all our sins, past, present and future have been washed away if you have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Ephesians 5:26-27   26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

This verse is telling us of the final view when the church is presented in perfect holiness at the coming great day. The washing of water by the word actually means the Word washes and cleanses our soul and spirit the same way water cleanses us.

Hebrews 10:28-31   28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

What do you think a person who shows no respect for the Son of deserves? If a person looks at the holy Blood that Jesus shed for us as no different than an ordinary person’s blood.

He insults the very spirit that God gave out of his loving kindness. This person deserves to be punished. God says, I alone have the right to take revenge.

Falling into the hands of Judgement of the living God is a terrifying thing. The Lord will judge those who are not sanctified by the Word, the Blood and the Holy Spirit.

If you are a believer, Gods mercy, grace and truth will set you free.

Right before Jesus returned to the father, he prayed and asked the father to sanctify us through the truth. He said, for their sakes I sanctify myself that they also might be sanctified.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

THE HOLY SPIRIT

In just about all churches we hear preachers and teachers speaking on God the Father and God the Son.

Very seldom do you hear the term God the Holy Spirit

I find that amazing since the work of the Holy Spirit is so vital to our faith walk and daily lives.

The Holy Spirit is one third of the God head, and the only one that if you speak against him, there will be no pardon

Mathew 12: 31-32.…. 31 wherefore i say unto you, all manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the holy ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
32 and whosoever speaketh a word against the son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the holy ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Again, I ask, why do pastors and teachers ignore the Holy Spirit. I cannot answer that question.

Acts 2:38...38 then peter said unto them, repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

There are no demonstrations of the Holy Spirit in some churches today, no one wants to teach on him.

The Holy Spirit is not an it, the Holy Spirit is the very presence of God, the anointing of God and He is very real and very powerful. It is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, they are the trinity.

When we are full of the Holy Spirit, we are different. We sing different, we act different we praise the Lord different, we sing different, we give different, we worship different, and we respond different. It is the right way to worship.

I don’t want to be like any other church, I want to be a Holy Spirit filled Christian. As a Holy Spirit filled Christians some of us shout, some of us cry, but when the spirit of God starts moving, we respond.

I want to be like the church that was born the day of Pentecost.

If it was good enough for Peter, if it was good enough for John, if it was good enough for Paul, it is good enough for a believing church. It is good enough for me.

How can we improve on the one that endowed Gods favorite, David with the power to kill the giant.

How can we improve on the one that anointed Moses, and opened the red sea?

How can we improve on the one that anointed Joshua as they marched around the walls of Jericho?

How can we improve on the one that raised Jesus from the dead?

You can’t get any higher than the power of the Holy Spirit.

Without the power of the person and anointed office of the Holy Spirit, there is no fire in the churches.

We must have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to experience the fulness of God.

The presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the service can do more in one second than all of the sermons preached and all the songs sung.

The power of God moving in a service can change the sinner, heal the sick, raise the dead and mend the broken hearts. It can make the crooked path straight.

That is what we need today, the moving and the operating of the Holy Spirit in our churches and our lives.

Through the anointing he guides us, the Holy Spirit leads us, the Holy Spirit empowers us, it is through the Holy Spirit we are anointed.

The Holy Spirit gives us our sermons to preach, He gives us songs to sing, and tells us how to preach it and how to sing it.

Have some come to a place where they think they no longer need to depend on the Holy Spirit?

Do we no longer believe in the power and the presence of God through the person and the manifestation of the Holy Spirit.

We were created not only as spiritual beings, not only as physical beings, but also created as emotional beings.

At times our emotions are all bent out of shape and messed up to the point that we have to put up with things all week.

On Sunday we get together in the household of faith and the spirit of God starts moving, the hands go up and the anointing comes down and our problems disappear.

God is greater than my body, he is greater than my sickness. There is something about the Holy Spirit, I can’t explain it, but I know I have it.

There is no limitation when the power of the Holy Spirit begins to move. I am believing God for the day to come at a believers church that they are right in the middle of a song, and the power of God will fall on the place and people will fall out, some will run, sinners will get saved, sick bodies will get healed without us laying hands on them, Believers will get baptized in the Holy Ghost and speak in tongues.

The power is here today, receive it, receive it in Jesus name.

Thessalonians 1:5-6... for our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the holy ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
6 and ye became followers of us, and of the lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the holy ghost.

The Holy Spirit changes people when they believe the good news

We must depend on the Holy Spirit to open eyes and ears of the unbelievers and convince them by what they hear that they need salvation.

Without the work of the Holy Spirit our words alone won’t work.

The Holy Spirit not only convicts’ people of their sin, but also assures them of the truth.

John 14: 26...26   but the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Jesus promised the disciples that the Holy Spirit would help them remember what he had been teaching them.

The Holy Spirit can help us in the same way.

As we study Gods word, we can trust him to plant the truth in our minds.

The end result of the Holy Spirits work in our lives is a deep and lasting peace.

If your life is full of stress, allow the Holy Spirit to fill you with the peace of Christ.

Mark 16:15-18... 15 and he said unto them, go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 and these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

I don’t see any signs following them that believe today. I don’t see anyone casting out devils, very seldom do I hear anyone speaking in tongues.

Many of the churches today have lost their Holy Spirit fire. We have shut out the only one that makes the word of God work in our life.

Have we quenched the Holy Spirit?

1st Thessalonians 1:5-6    for our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
6 and ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost.
the word in pulpist today are not being preached with power in the Holy Ghost, but in words only…

The Holy Spirit changes people when they believe the good news.

We must depend on the Holy Spirit to open eyes and ears of the unbelievers and convince them by what they hear that they need salvation.

Without the work of the Holy Spirit our words alone cannot work.

The Holy Spirit not only convicts’ people of their sin, He also assures them of the truth.

John 14:26   26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

If your life is full of stress, allow the Holy Spirit to fill you with the peace of Christ Jesus. It is a peace that passes all understanding.

We are overcomers, walk like it. Talk like it, live like it and act like it.

Be led by the Holy Spirit and the word of truth.
