LEARNING TO TRUST GOD

LEARNING TO TRUST GOD

Titus 3:4-7   But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

He is saying, this that we who have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. Teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts and live righteously and Godlike in this present world.
Psalms 34:8  O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

Lately I’ve heard so many people saying to me, you know, I go to church, I pay my tithes, I try to live as right as I know, but things are not working for me.

when people tell me this, usually I have an answer that goes something like this.

The problem with people today, even Christians, is they might be living as right as they know, but it is what they don’t know that is causing things to go wrong in their lives.

Instead of reading the word, meditating on the word, and trusting God, they still are trusting in what they can do, and not what the word says God can do and will do.

You can have all the hope, faith and love, but if you don’t trust God for spiritual direction you won’t reap the full benefit of Gods blessings.

John 14:12   12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

We must trust God and his word, how is it that we trust God for our salvation but don’t trust him for all our needs… like healing and prosperity…

Either God can do all his word says he can and will, or they are reading a different bible than I am.

Jeremiah 17: 7   blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.

if you will put your trust in the Lord you will find confidence in the Lord.

We as the church need to start making it a point to trust and realize that God loves us and would never lead us in a wrong direction.

3 John 2    beloved I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as thy soul prospereth.

Prosper in all things. What is all things?

Everything that God has to offer through his son Jesus Christ and his finished work at the cross.

As thy soul prospered, we are not going to prosper if we don’t know what the word says.

The word is the truth. The truth can’t bless you if you don’t know the truth and apply it to your daily walk, by the renewing your mind.

Paul says in Ephesians 4:23   be renewed in the spirit of your mind.

you will never understand the mercy of God and the grace of God until you have his word in your heart, and a relationship with him based on his word.

it is impossible to have a relationship with Christ with one foot in the word and the other foot in the world.

With God it is all or nothing, no ifs, ands or buts about it.

It is time for Gods people to wake up and stand up and become what God expects us to be.

Mark 16: 15-18   15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Do you really trust God?
We are living in a world of hurt. But there is hope in the midst of hurting.

Yes, because there is a God who cares and who promises to protect and provide.

The question is why do we hurt? Why does God allow it?

How long can I hang on? How long until things change?

This is one of the reasons why I like to teach and raise up a solid teaching of God’s word.

God’s word can bring comfort to one’s life, whether it is pain or illness from a physical situation or a financial meltdown.

Some of the things we face daily are depression, feeling discouraged, and feeling impatient.

We even sometimes get so low we start doubting God.

So, what do you do when you are at the point that you don’t know what to do?

Sometimes you might think you are sure about what you need to do; then fear shows up.

Isaiah 41:10   10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Another time you want to make a decision but lack the courage to step out in faith.

When you feel uncertain about making a decision, know in your heart that God will give you the courage you need.

Psalms 27:14   14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

God will give you strength for every situation you face.

When you rely on His power, you will run and not be weary, that’s Gods promise to you.

Let’s say you’re facing financial difficulties, financial problems can build up incredible stress, worry and anxiety.

You can get so preoccupied about how you will ever pay these bills off.

Turning to God for wisdom and direction is a vital step toward financial freedom.

His word is filled with the knowledge and insight you need for getting through these tough times.

Matthew 6:31-33   31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

God knows your needs and will provide in ways you can’t even imagine.

Ephesians 3:20   20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Philippians 4:19   19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

He has promised to supply all your needs, according to the riches of His perfect knowledge, unlimited power an unshakeable love for you.

Psalms 34:10   10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.

One of the things we really need to do is totally surrender our lives to God.

The word surrender means: an act of yielding or giving up our way of doing things and going to God and seeking His way of doing things.

Sometimes after people reach a certain age, they start thinking I’ve worked all my life and I don’t have a thing to show for it.

Then either Anger or depression starts showing up.

Ephesians 4:26-27   26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

27 Neither give place to the devil.

Don’t ever let anger control your thoughts. Anger and depression will cause you to want to give up.

So, what do you do? When you don’t know what to do, go to God, and say to God, I surrender all.

When you surrender all you have to God, you will get all that God has for you.
